The Union of Democratic Mineworkers Today

Trade unions have been champions for Nottinghamshire miners since the 1800s, a tradition the Union Of Democratic Mineworkers is proud to maintain.

The UDM exists for one purpose – to provide care and assistance for miners and their families when it is needed.

The union operates an open-door policy for members and retired mineworkers at its offices at Berry Hill Lane , in Mansfield , where the staff are trained and dedicated to represent a membership of more than 1000 colliery workers and provide practical, financial and emotional support for them and their families.
